Phytol is derived from moss, the first plants on Earth with unique ability to adapt fast enough to climate change and survive 470 million years until today. The features enabling moss to be resistant to cold and drought were mainly aquaporins for water balance, rehydrins for desiccation tolerance/fast regeneration, ability to repair DNA (resurrection mechanisms), waterbinding metabolites such as stachyose and antifreeze proteins and cryoprotectants.

Phytol, coming from physcomitrella patens, culture extract with isomalt is the first biotechnologically produced moss which is obtained in a reproducible and sustainable way. It introduces new anti-aging concept based on cell nucleus health.

The ingredient has powerful impact on skin. It rejuvenates the nuclear pore complex and improves the molecular traffic into and out of the nucleus in aged cells. It therefore helps the skin to quickly adapt to environmental changes. It significantly improves skin moisture, even in stressful conditions, strengthens skin resilience against urban aggressors, improves skin hydration, provides visible improvement of skin homogeneity, refines skin and creates a flawless complexion.
